UNESCO donates Medical and Health books to the University of Bahr El Ghazal

Wau, 27 February 2024

The University of Bahr El Ghazal (UBG), on Tuesday 27th February 2024, received two hundred and twenty-four (224) boxes of medical and health reference books donated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Juba Office, as a part of collaboration and partnership between the two institutions as well as UNESCO’s support program to the public universities in South Sudan.
The donation was handed over by Mr. Wilson Wani from the UNESCO to Mr. Malual Deng, representative of the university administration at the UNESCO office in Juba, where the books will be transported to the university’s main campus in Wau City, Western Bahr El Ghazal State.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance, Prof. Dr. Hawa Abdullah Marjan, thanked UNESCO head of office and representative to South Sudan Mr. Julius Banda, for their commitment to supporting the University with reference books.
Prof. Hawa said :”I want to say thank you so much for keeping your promise that you made with your team in one of your visits to the University last year”.
“I believe the books will be used properly to generate knowledge and to support research work. All the staff and the students will benefit from the books”, she added.
