This programme has been established to serve the following objectives:-

  1. To develop the human resources in the field of mathematics.
  2. To train human elements that meet the needs of professional mathematicians
  3. To qualify Academic cadre to attain skills which enable him/her to analyse within the global range in the field of mathematics.

This programme is under the college of Education and has been designed for teachers of English Language. It has the following objectives:

Master by Research

 Master by research in English language:

The procedure is that a candidate is to submit a proposal to be approved by the Research Board of the College of Education after which a supervisor can be chosen. Candidates are required to conduct at least two seminars; one at the beginning of the study to pass his proposal and the second before the end of the programme to check on the candidate’s progress. The proposal should be in the field of linguistics and Applied Linguistics.

The minimum period for the study is two years.            

  1. Master by Research in Veterinary

The college of Graduate Studies offers masters by research in the fields of veterinary Science. Candidates are required to conduct at least two seminars during the course of their studies. One at the beginning of the study to pass the proposal and the second towards the end of the programme to check on the candidate’s progress.  The minimum period for the study is two years.

  1. Master by Research in Mathematics

The college of graduate studies offers master by research in the field of mathematics. A candidate is required to deliver at least two seminars; one at the beginning of the programme and the second towards the end of the programme.  The minimum period of the programme is two years.

Philosophy Doctorate (PhD) by Research

The college of graduate studies offers PhD programmes in the following fields.

  • Business Administration
  • Political Science
  • Education

 A candidate for these programmes must hold a Master’s Degree in the relevant field from University of Bahr El Ghazal or any other recognised institution. In addition, a candidate is required to conduct at least three seminars during the course of the study. These seminars are to be conducted under the immediate supervision of the supervisors, for information see Graduate School Booklet.
